Stressed Earth Pottery
This series is my recent exploration of the ways the surface of slip painted pottery can be stressed to the point of cracking. The resulting cracked painted landscapes relate to the vast areas of the Earth that are parched and arctic areas of cracking ice. Some of the vessel shapes are inspired by ancient Greek pottery.
